How to play

Start at your own 20 — 80 yards to the end zone. Score it.

Every down is a golf hole: you get a list from the league you picked (NFL or NBA) and a rank. Name the player at that rank. How far off your player's real rank is picks the play. The window is half the rank (at least 3, at most 15): #10 allows 5 off, #20 allows 10:

  • On the dot: Hail Mary — touchdown from anywhere
  • In the window: a completion — 1 off gains 30 yards, and the gain slides down to 5 at the window's edge
  • Outside the window: the spectrum runs the other way — just outside loses 1 yard, sliding to a 10-yard sack at 30 off
  • More than 30 off, or a player not on the list: blindside sack, −15

Four downs to gain 10. Touchdown = 7.

Field goal (3) once you're within 50 of the goal line: one hole, and your player just has to land within the window. 30 yards and in is a gimme (±30), under 50 is easy (±10), 50+ is medium (±5), 60+ is hard (±2).

Score and keep going: every touchdown or made field goal starts a new drive from the own 20, and your points and yards carry. A missed kick or a turnover on downs ends the run.
